Boil-water notice lifted for North Miami Beach, city's distribution areas

Water sample tests show no sign of contamination, officials say

NORTH MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – A precautionary boil-water notice issued Wednesday for North Miami Beach was lifted Thursday, city officials said in a news release.

The notice also affected people who live in the city's distribution areas, including Miami Gardens, Sunny Isles Beach, Golden Beach and Haulover Beach.

The order came after water pressure throughout the distribution system dropped below 20 pounds per square inch for about one minute due to a momentary power outage at the Norwood Water Treatment Plant, a news release said.

Officials said all water sample tests showed no signs of contamination, and the city's water is safe for cooking and drinking.
