Man stabbed at North Miami Beach convenience store

Wounded father of 3 taken to hospital in critical condition

NORTH MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – Police officers were searching for a man who stabbed a father Sunday afternoon during a confrontation at a convenience store across the street from a busy Walmart Supercenter.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Lt. Felipe Lay said an ambulance rushed the wounded man from the Jiffy Food convenience store at 1540 NE 165 St.

Aletha Mitchell said she knows the victim as a father of three who didn't have any ongoing conflicts with anyone.

"He didn't bother nobody or nothing," Mitchell told Local 10 News.

The victim was taken to Aventura Hospital in critical condition.

Witnesses said they knew who stabbed the man, but North Miami Beach police did not identify the suspect.

Detectives were asking anyone with information to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
