ORLANDO, Fla. – A group of onlookers helped rescue a child from a burning vehicle after a crash in Orange County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Six people were injured in the crash, which happened early Wednesday at the intersection of East Colonial Drive and Forsyth Road in Orlando.
According to troopers, the driver of a white Honda Accord rear-ended a Toyota minivan which was stopped at a red light.
"It was a loud crash," witness Brian Kenney said. "You didn't hear (any) squeaking, so she was probably doing about 50 (mph) when she hit the back of that van."
Troopers said a family of five, including three children, were inside the minivan, which burst into flames.
Kenney said he and three other witnesses immediately tried to help save one of the children who was trapped inside after the crash.
"As soon as we turned around, there was flames starting to get into the car," Kenney said. "When they pulled him out, his pants were already starting to be on fire."
Troopers said at least one person suffered burns, but everyone was expected to survive.
Charges are pending against the driver responsible for the crash.
