Adeline Edwards faces first-degree murder charge in nephew's death

A medical examiner determined that Kalobe Williams died of blunt force trauma. The Boynton Beach boy's death has been ruled a homicide.

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. – Police arrested 24-year-old Adeline Edwards on Friday, after she was accused of killing her 11-month-old nephew, according to the Boynton Beach Police Department. 

Kalobe Williams died on Christmas Eve. He was supposed to celebrate his first birthday on New Year's Eve. Instead, the medical examiner reported he suffering blunt force trauma to the back of his head.

Edwards, who has a history with the Florida Department of Children and Families, told detectives that she hit little Kalobe several times on the night of Dec. 23. According to the medical examiner Kalobe had a cracked skull.  

Edwards faced charges of first degree murder and aggravated child abuse.
