Baseball bat-wielding man smashes out window of Jeep to help save driver

Incident in Boca Raton captured on cellphone video

BOCA RATON, Fla. – A man with a baseball bat broke out the window of a Jeep to rescue a driver who was trapped inside after a crash in Boca Raton.

Adam Turetsky recorded Thursday's incident on his cellphone.

Turetsky said the driver passed out on Florida's Turnpike and hit a wall, causing his Jeep to become engulfed in smoke.

"His foot was on the acceleration, so the car continued being pushed," Turetsky said.

Gregory Glenn then pulled a baseball bat out of his trunk and started pounding on the windows to break them.

"I know I was taking a risk, but I did what I had to do," Glenn said.

Glenn said he is thankful that he had his baseball bat with him.

Rescuers shut off the Jeep and pulled out the driver.

Glenn said he doesn't consider himself a hero and hopes someone will help him one day when he needs it.

"I just happened to be at the right place at the right time," Glenn said.

The driver's condition was not immediately known.
