MIAMI - President Barack Obama arrives in South Florida Thursday afternoon to give speeches and campaign for his reelection.

The president is expected to arrive on Air Force One at Miami International Airport around 1:25 p.m.

From MIA, his motorcade will be traveling to his first stop at the University of Miami Bank United Center, where he is expected to speak at 2:30 p.m.

Given that itinerary, road closures are expected on State Road 112 westbound and possibly US-1 southbound, the Palmetto southbound or LeJeune Road southbound.

Local 10 is not provided with a planned presidential traffic route due to security, but drivers in the area between the airport and UM at around 1:30 - 2:30 p.m. can expect to see traffic delays.

From UM, the president is expected to head to the Biltmore Hotel for a fundraiser around 3:30 p.m. so even more road closures are expected in Coral Gables as the motorcade moves on, most likely to LeJeune Road southbound.

The president will then travel to a private home for a second fundraiser southwest of the Biltmore Hotel at 10367 Southwest 67th avenue.  This is near Killian Parkway and Ludlam Road.

His estimated arrival time is 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. so road closures can be expected in the Pinecrest and South Miami area at the height of rush hour traffic.

Finally, Obama is scheduled to return to Air Force One and depart Miami International Airport at 7:10 p.m.  '

Roads may once again be closed to make room for the Presidential motorcade to head back to MIA., possibly blocking on US-1 northbound, the Snapper Creek Expressway westbound, the Don Shula Expressway northbound, the Palmetto Northbound, LeJeune Road northbound and State Road 112.

While it's not possible to predict the exact route the president will take, South Florida drivers in the areas mentioned above should but be ready for police to close any of these roads for his arrival into town, his visits to different spots in South Florida and his departure.
