Headline Goes Here

PORT MIAMI, Fla. - President Obama made an important declaration for South Florida on Thursday.

The president announced he is speeding up expansion projects at Port Miami and six other American ports.

Miami-Dade County leaders said this declaration is great news for the port's deep dredge project.

The deep dredge project will now be able to begin early next year.

Workers will dredge the channel to fifty feet, making room for much bigger ships.

The massive job is expected to create 30-thousand jobs and be ready to coincide with the unveiling of the expanded Panama Canal in 2015.
