Kevin Leblanc, a sex offender wanted in Florida, was arrested Monday in Arizona.

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - Federal authorities say a sex offender wanted in Florida has been arrested in northern Arizona.

U.S. Marshals Service officials announced Monday that Kevin Leblanc, 52, was taken into custody while walking down Highway 66 in Flagstaff.

Leblanc was wanted on a federal court warrant out of Florida for a supervised release violation.

Authorities say Leblanc was charged in 1999 with five counts of rape of a child under 12 and one count of lascivious aggravated battery of a child under 12.

He has a previous escape from a county jail in New Hampshire and also was convicted in 2011 for failure to register under the Child Safety Protection Act of 2006.

Marshals say Leblanc will be extradited to Florida to face felony charges.
