North Miami Beach police said Robert approached a woman as she got into her car at the Intracoastal Mall, pointed a gun at her and demanded money.

The woman fought with Robert, closed her car door and drove away before flagging down a nearby police officer, police said.

That officer immediately called for backup.

Robert then followed another woman to the Dollar Tree parking lot and pointed a gun at her, demanding money and her cellphone, police said.

As the woman started to hand over her wallet, a bystander saw what was happening and intervened, causing Robert to run off, police said.

Robert didn't get far, though. Police arrested him in front of the Outback Steakhouse restaurant at the mall.
