WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - A Royal Palm Beach girl is recovering after a dog attack.

Jacklyn Tucker, 11, was spending the night at a family friend's home when "Tanker," an English Bulldog-Jack Russell terrier mix, bit off part of her nose and upper lip.

Tucker ended up with 100 stitches and 11 staples in her face.  She is now undergoing hyperbaric oxygen treatments twice a day to help her heal faster.

Doctors at St. Mary's Medical Center are hoping to re-attach her lip.

"It's going to be weeks of initial acute recovery, followed by potential multiple surgeries to get her back as normal as possible," said Dr. David Rankin.

The dog's owners surrendered him to animal care and control.  He will be quarantined for 10 days and will likely be euthanized.
