GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The trial of a Miami man charged in the 2012 death of a University of Florida student is set to start Monday.

Christian Aguilar, 18, who attended Doral Academy Prep, disappeared Sept. 20, 2012.

He was last seen in public at the Best Buy in Gainesville with his childhood friend, Pedro Bravo.

Police said when Bravo was questioned, he initially said the two had gotten into an argument about a woman.

But a receipt and surveillance video showed that Bravo bought a shovel and
duct tape four days before Aguilar's disappearance.

Aguilar's body was found Oct. 12, 2012, by hunters in a wooded area an hour from campus.

Bravo faces seven charges, including homicide, kidnapping, poisoning, making a false report, obstructing a criminal investigation, destroying evidence and mishandling human remains.
