Firefighters deem home uninhabitable after fire

WESTON, Fla. – Broward Sheriff's Fire Rescue rescued two small dogs and a lizard during a house fire in Weston Wednesday.

BSFR firefighters responded to a two-story single-family home at 2400 Province Circle. Battalion Chief Michael Kane said it took firefighters about 15 minutes to extinguish the fire.

"A dog required oxygen," Kane said.

Firefighters said the damage to the uninhabitable home was extensive and the Florida State Fire Marshall was investigating the cause of the fire.
