FORT PIERCE, Fla. – A former Miami-Dade police officer barricaded himself with a gun Monday afternoon inside his car, the St. Lucie Sheriff's Department said.
Authorities said the incident was unfolding in a parking lot in Fort Pierce.

WPBF reported that the man drove off after getting into a fight with his girlfriend.
Authorities said the man showed his girlfriend the gun on Facetime and told her he was going to "end it all."
WPBF reported that the woman called 911 and deputies found the man in the parking lot.
The man's identity has not been released.
Local 10 News was told that the standoff ended peacefully about 4:15 p.m.
