Hungarian man sentenced in Miami for human trafficking

Andros Janos Vass, 25, to spend 11 years in prison

MIAMI ā€“ One of three Hungarian men accused of using the Web to lure gay men into the U.S. and turn them into sex slaves was sentenced Tuesday to 11 years in prison.

Andros Janos Vass was convicted in a Miami courtroom of human trafficking.

Prosecutors said the 25-year-old man was involved in an enterprise with business partners Viktor Berki and Gabor Acs, involving sex slaves who didnā€™t speak English and were barely allowed to sleep.

Detectives said the men convinced three victims, ages 20 to 22, to move to South Florida to make money with their business, Never Sleep Inc., but the victims ended up in a north Miami-Dade County home, where they were forced to perform sex acts in front of a webcam and engage in prostitution for 18 to 20 hours a day.

"Their traffickers used various techniques to keep them enslaved, including isolating them from others, withholding their travel and identification documents and using financial manipulation to keep them in constant debt," federal special agent Melissa Pavlikowski said in an arrest warrant.

The victims read letters in the courtroom Tuesday, saying they were used like machines and still live in constant fear.

Acs and Berki are still awaiting their trials.
