4.9 magnitude earthquake hits near Iranian nuclear plant

IRAN – The U.S. Geological Survey reports a magnitude 4.9 earthquake hit near a nuclear plant in Iran Wednesday morning.

Iranian media reported the earthquake struck near the Bushehr nuclear power plane in the southern part of the country.

The Washington Post reports the plant is designed to withstand earthquakes up to magnitude-9.

No damage or injuries have been reported.
