Surveillance video from the restaurant captured an individual walking up to the outside dining area to steal one of the jumbo teddy bears.

“We are in Coral Gables area, we never expected something like this to happen,” said Cruz.

It happened Thursday just before 3 p.m.

What makes these bears special is that they are sold to customers, and the proceeds are donated to a charitable foundation.

After the individual snatched the bear, they can be seen jumping into the back seat of an already moving gray SUV that took off westbound.

Friday afternoon, police announced that the person in the video has been identified.

Police said charges are pending and that the bear has been returned to the restaurant.

Police have yet to reveal the identity of the individual who took the bear.
