Woman, 31, dies after being pulled from water off Key Largo

KEY LARGO, Fla. – A 31-year-old woman from Miami-Dade County died Friday morning after she was pulled from the water off Key Largo.

According to Monroe County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Adam Linhardt, deputies were called to the Moon Bay Condominiums just after 1 a.m. and arrived to find two men performing CPR on the woman.

One of the men told deputies that he saw the woman fall from a kayak or paddleboard.

He said he jumped in the water when he realized that she wasn’t swimming and pulled her to shore.

The other Good Samaritan then rushed over to help him.

Linhardt said the woman was taken to Mariners Hospital in Tavernier, where she was pronounced dead.

Authorities believe the woman drowned, but an autopsy is expected to be performed to confirm the cause of death.

Foul play is not believed to have been a factor.

The woman’s identity has not yet been released as authorities work to notify her next of kin.
