Card Sound Road reopens after wildfire scorches 13,000 acres

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Card Sound Road reopened in both directions overnight after a wildfire scorched about 13,000 acres over the course of several days.

The Florida Forest Service confirmed that the fire is now 80% contained.

It erupted Friday just south of Florida City.

Officials said the fire is not a threat to any nearby structures.

An investigation remains ongoing into what sparked the blaze.
