Gov. Ron DeSantis visits Lee County Sheriff’s Office

FORT MYERS, Fla. – Gov. Ron DeSantis visited the Lee County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday in Fort Myers. He met with Sheriff Carmine Marceno at the deputies’ real-time intelligence center.

During an earlier visit to the Satellite Beach Police Department, DeSantis announced his administration was issuing $1,000 bonuses for all sworn law enforcement and first responders in Florida.

DeSantis repeated the message in Fort Myers. He posed for a picture with Marceno and a large $1,000 check. He said it was the Florida legislature’s way of showing gratitude for their work during the coronavirus pandemic.
