Miami Beach officer runs over colleague, robbery suspect

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. — An officer was injured while trying to arrest a strong-arm robbery suspect on Thursday in Miami Beach.

A police officer who was driving unintentionally struck both the officer and the suspect in the area of 22nd Street and Collins Avenue, police said.

An officer was injured on Thursday in Miami Beach.

Fire Rescue personnel took the police officer to Jackson Memorial Hospital and the suspect to the Mount Sinai Medical Center.

“Both are expected to be okay,” said Officer Ernesto Rodriguez, a spokesman for the Miami Beach Police Department.
