Video shows ‘heartless’ man accused of raping Miami senior, police say

Detectives search for rape suspect in silver Chevy Malibu

MIAMI – Detectives are searching for a man who is accused of brutally raping an 80-year-old woman in Miami.

The suspect was driving a silver Chevy Malibu. He was wearing a sleeveless shirt and dark pants. He had a full beard.

Officer Kenia Fallat, a spokeswoman for the Miami Police Department, said he is about 5-feet, 8-inches tall and “very heavy” set.

“We are considering him completely heartless, dangerous,” Fallat said.

Surveillance video shows the man before and after the rape before sunrise on Sunday near the intersection of Northwest First Street and Northwest 37th Avenue.

“He is very distinctive because he has got tattoos on both arms,” Fallat said.

The man approached the victim from behind, grabbed her and dragged her to the back of a building where he raped her, Fallat said. After the attack, he was fidgeting with his pants, ran back to the car and drove away, police said.

“We need someone to come forward with information,” Fallat said. “We need to find him.”

Fallat said anyone with information about the man’s whereabouts needs to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
