Gunman targets man holding baby inside gas station convenience store

DETROIT – Police in Detroit are searching for a man who pointed a gun at another man who was holding a baby inside a gas station over the weekend.

Surveillance video of the incident shows the gunman, who was wearing a tan bucket hat and a white shirt, entering the convenience store before exchanging words with the victim and pointing a gun at him.

Local news outlets said the victim was carrying his 7-month-old baby.

The video shows the victim putting his hand up in front of the gunman, striking the handgun, before the gunman walks backward out of the store.

Detroit police say the victim’s actions may have caused the gun to jam. They are now searching for the suspect, who is wanted on an aggravated assault charge.

A motive for the incident is unclear at this time.
