Motorcyclist badly injured after crash with vehicle in Lauderdale Lakes

LAUDERDALE LAKES, Fla. – A crash involving a car and a motorcycle left a man badly injured on Thursday.

It happened along State Road 7 and 44th street in Lauderdale Lakes.

Police said the motorcyclist, a 45-year-old man, was airlifted to a nearby hospital with injuries considered life-threatening.

BSO Fire Rescue said there was an amputation performed as a result of his injuries.

The driver of the car was also taken to the hospital for treatment, but authorities did not provide any information on their health status.

State Road 7 was shut down in both directions following the crash.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
