Dog stolen in armed carjacking found & reunited with owner

North Miami, FLA – A Canadian woman’s visit to South Florida ending on happy note after her beloved dog was found.

The woman, who asked to be identified solely by her first name, Valentina, told Local 10 her visit to South Florida became a nightmare Friday when two men carjacked her friend at gunpoint with her beloved dog in the backseat.

Valentina took a road trip to South Florida to visit her friend and Tina was along for every single mile. Tina tagged along as Valentina’s friend showed them around Miami.

“I was in the passenger seat and my dog was asleep and she was at my feet,” Valentina said.

Valentina said they pulled back into her friend’s driveway on Northwest 135th Street, just west of Interstate 95. Valentina said she got out to move some things from her friend’s car to her own and all of a sudden, she heard a “dreadful” commotion.

Valentina said two men held her friend at gunpoint, yanked her out of her black 2017 Nissan Versa Note and took off with Tina still inside.

On Saturday, Valentina could finally breathe huge sigh of relief, after she received an unexpected call that Tina had been located.

“A lady said my friend saw your car I have to say I was losing it I started screaming where where so she gave me the address on Opa-Locka Boulevard,” said Valentina.

Valentina says she is grateful her dog is in one piece, and she had a strong message for the alleged carjackers.

“What you did was terribly wrong but you have a heart and for this I thank you and please turn your lives around,” said Valentina.

Anyone with information is asked to call North Miami police or Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
