MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – A 27-year-old woman was arrested on numerous charges Wednesday after authorities accused her of using the home she is renting in Miami Gardens as a brothel.

According to her arrest report, a Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office Human Trafficking Task Force investigation led to an undercover detective contacting a cellphone number that was listed on an adult website known to advertise prostitution services.

Miami Gardens police said the detective was instructed to go to a home in the 2300 block of Northwest 153rd Street Wednesday, where he was met by Leidy Nayibe Cabrera-Gomez, who took him to a bedroom where another female was waiting.

Police said Cabrera-Gomez and the other female, whose age and identity have not been released, offered to have sex with the undercover detective for $200.

After the detective handed over the money, a takedown signal was given and police attempted to enter the home.

But police say Cabrera-Gomez yelled at the other female to close the door as police were trying to come through.

Authorities said the female locked the door, but officers were eventually able to breach it and take Cabrera-Gomez into custody.

According to her arrest report, the bedroom where the undercover detective was taken was solely being used for the purpose of prostitution and contained sex toys, sexual lubricants and condoms.

Police said Cabrera-Gomez provided them with a statement, however that statement was redacted from the publicly released arrest report.

She was taken to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center and faces charges of deriving support from the proceeds of prostitution, unlawful use of a communications device, renting a space for prostitution, maintaining a house of prostitution and engaging in prostitution.
