MIAMI – A 32-year-old man confessed to fatally shooting a 52-year-old man on Sunday morning in Miami-Dade County’s Gladeview area, according to the Miami-Dade Police Department.

Detectives arrested Lazaro Perez after his confession in Doral for the murder of Marvin J. Rolle. Police officers also seized Perez’s 9mm, Glock 17 from his apartment in Hialeah.

Shot Spotter detected two gunshots in the area of J.S. Food Market, at 7606 NW 17 Ave., after surveillance video captured a muzzle flash coming from Perez’s sports utility vehicle, according to the arrest report.

Perez told detectives he drove his black 2018 Chevrolet Suburban to purchase narcotics, and surveillance video shows him getting into an argument with a man, according to the arrest report.

Fire Rescue personnel found Rolle was shot in the head and took him to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center on Sunday, according to the report.

Records show corrections booked Perez at 11:30 p.m., on Sunday at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. He is being held without bond on Monday evening and he is facing charges of second-degree murder and tampering with physical evidence.
