PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – A top official with the U.S. Border Patrol says agents have taken 175 migrants into custody following multiple landings in South Florida over a one-day span.

Chief Patrol Agent Walter N. Slosar, who leads the agency’s Miami sector, tweeted Thursday that the agency responded to landings in the Florida Keys as well as on Hollywood Beach.

U.S. Coast Guard crews suspended a search Wednesday for nine Cuban migrants missing off the South Florida coast. All are now presumed dead.
