Jacob can now walk on his own.

A few days before Christmas, Jacob was riding with his mother Cristina Hernandez when they were rear ended by a 16-year-old driver who Miramar Police said was under the influence of marijuana and going more than 100 miles per hour.

Hernandez, who was pregnant, died from her injuries.

Doctors said Jacob’s chances of survival after the crash were initially slim, but thankfully he’s now home from the hospital.
