According to Miami-Dade police, this was possibly a swatting call, however that hasn’t been confirmed at this time.

A “swatting call” is the practice of making a prank call to emergency services in an attempt to create a large police presence at a specific location.

A parent outside the school, however, told Local 10 News that the students were moved to the field after hearing a bang sound.

No other details were immediately released.
