Police: 3 shot near U.S. Army Reserve Center in Miami-Dade

MIAMI – Three adults were the victims of a street shooting on Sunday afternoon in Miami-Dade County.

The three injured and the shooter were traveling northbound in separate cars in the Westview neighborhood, police said.

Miami-Dade fire rescue personnel responded to the area of Northwest 27 Avenue and 119 Street and took the critically injured to the hospital, police said.

“There are multiple witnesses ... who saw a vehicle flee at a high rate of speed, driving erratically,” said Officer Andre Martin, a spokesman for the Miami-Dade Police Department, urging them to report what they saw to police.

Police officers used crime scene tape to surround a black Mercedes-Benz sedan that was riddled with bullets, and detectives recovered a handgun in the car, police said.

The shooting was in the vicinity of Colonel Kenneth P. Williams United States Army Reserve Center and Miami Dade College - North Campus.

Detectives were asking anyone with information about the case to call Miami-Dade County Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
