FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the Congregation Kol Tikvah to investigate a bomb threat on Thursday morning in Parkland.

Deputies started their investigation shortly before 8 a.m., at 6750 University Dr., where there is a private school, just north of Parkland City Hall.

Deputies reported the threat was a hoax.

There was a similar situation at Temple Bat Yam, at 5151 NE 14th Terrace, in Fort Lauderdale. Detectives investigated a bomb threat that also turned out to be bogus, according to the Fort Lauderdale Police Department.

There was also a false alarm at Temple Kol Ami Emanu-El, at 8200 Peters Road, in Plantation.

As the Israel-Hamas war raged, the FBI and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security warned about increases in hoax bomb threats against the Jewish, Arab-American, and Muslim communities.

Detectives were asking anyone with information about the case to call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.
