2 men injured in Palmetto Expressway shooting

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Two men are in the hospital after a drive-by shooting over the weekend in Miami-Dade County.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers say the men were traveling along the Palmetto Expressway, west of the Golden Glades Interchange, in Miami Gardens Sunday night when another car approached them and someone inside opened fire.

The shooting occurred just before 7:30 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of the highway.

After the shooting, the victims’ white BMW collided into a concrete barrier wall.

Troopers said the driver was shot several times and is now in critical condition.

The passenger was shot in the leg and is stable.

Troopers are now searching for the shooter.

No other details were immediately released.
