MIAMI – A 29-year-old man went into a women’s bathroom at a Miami-Dade College campus in order to watch students using the toilet, according to police.

Rishard Parsons is only facing misdemeanor charges in connection with the voyeurism allegations, but he also faces a felony after Miami police said he tried to get away from officers.

According to an arrest report, the incident happened Friday at the college’s Medical Campus, located at 950 NW 20th St., near Jackson Memorial Hospital.

An arrest report states a security officer went to an off-duty Miami police sergeant working at the campus to report that three students had complained that a man was in the ladies’ room while one of the students was “naked and using the toilet.”

Police said one of the students told them that the man, later identified as Parsons, “secretly looked at her under the stall.”

Parsons is homeless and not an MDC student, the report states; he was seen on surveillance video entering the campus “several times without cause.”

The sergeant would then go into the bathroom and find Parsons inside, the arrest report states. Police said after the officer knocked and announcing his presence, Parsons came out of a stall and apologized.

“Sorry, I was confused,” police said Parsons told them, claiming he had used the women’s restroom “by mistake.”

As the sergeant detained him for further questioning, Parsons ran out the door and was initially able to outrun police, authorities said.

But, according to the report, after setting a perimeter, officers would find Parsons at Northwest Eighth Avenue and 18th Terrace and take him into custody.

Parsons, facing a felony fleeing and eluding charge as well as misdemeanor charges of voyeurism and disrupting an educational institution, remained held on a $3,150 bond Monday afternoon in Miami-Dade’s Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
