Miramar police investigate apparent hit-and-run after body found along US 27

MIRAMAR, Fla. – A man whose body was found along U.S. 27 in Miramar Tuesday morning was likely the victim of a hit-and-run crash, according to police.

A driver made the discovery around 6:45 a.m., police said.

Sky 10 was above the scene just south of Pembroke Road shortly after 8:30 a.m. Tuesday as a yellow tarp covered a body on the side of the roadway.

Authorities closed the highway while investigating. The road reopened later Tuesday morning.

Police said they have not yet been able to identify the victim.
