1 airlifted to hospital after Coca-Cola semi-truck rolls over on I-95

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – One person was airlifted to a hospital Thursday morning after a Coca-Cola semi-truck overturned on Interstate 95 in Miami-Dade County, authorities confirmed.

The crash occurred around 5:30 a.m. in the southbound lanes of the highway just before the Miami Gardens Drive exit.

Sky 10 was above the scene as the 18-wheeler was overturned on its side with Coke cans and bottles spilled on the ground.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue officials confirmed that they airlifted one person to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center. His or her condition has not been released.

The cause of the crash is under investigation and it’s unclear whether any other vehicles were involved.

Coca-Cola released the following statement on the condition of their employee, which you can read here:

“On the morning of February 15th, a Cola-Cola Beverages Florida trailer was involved in a traffic accident on I95 southbound near Miami Gardens. The accident is still under investigation. Our driver was transported from the scene and latest reports are that he is in good condition.”
