Suspect on the run, victim hospitalized after Fort Lauderdale parking lot stabbing

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – Police in Broward County are investigating a stabbing incident that occurred on Friday.

Witness told Local 10 News that a woman was seen in a parking lot off Davie Boulevard and Southwest 27th Avenue with serious injuries after they watched as a man ran off.

“We saw a girl laying down on the street right next to that Infiniti SUV, and we saw when the paramedics came over and picked her up and she had blood coming down her left arm,” said witness Mickey Tomovski.

Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies said it was just after noon when the woman was stabbed and then rushed to an area hospital to be treated for her injuries.

That’s what prompted a large response from Fort Lauderdale police and BSO.

For close to three hours, deputies clearly established a perimeter just west of Northwest 27th Avenue, north of the North Fork New River. With long guns and K-9 units, deputies searched through the neighborhood for the person responsible, at one point even focusing their attention on a home they surrounded and searched inside of.

While the all clear was given and that perimeter was broken down, investigators are still working to find out what led up to the stabbing that left the victim in the hospital and detectives searching for the person who stabbed her.

BSO said its special victim’s unit is investigating the stabbing.
