BSO: Elderly woman with dementia found safe, unharmed

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. — The Broward Sheriff’s Office Missing Persons Unit located an 84-year-old woman who was missing from Pompano Beach.

A missing person alert was issued Friday after Annie Ruth Sands was last seen around 9 a.m. on Thursday, March 28, in the 800 block of Northwest 30th Avenue in Pompano Beach. Sands was located and is safe.

Deputies have not said what led to her disappearance.
