Apartment building fire displaces 14 in Miami

MIAMI – An apartment building fire on Saturday morning displaced 14 residents, including a child, in Miami’s Little Havana neighborhood, firefighters said.

According to Lt. Pete Sanchez, a spokesman for Miami Fire Rescue, one person suffered minor injuries, and the Red Cross assisted the homeless after the fire at 921 SW 7 St.

“Crews found a three-story residential structure with heavy smoke and flames,” Sanchez wrote.

The fire was on the second and third floors, and it took firefighters about 10 minutes to extinguish it. The cause of the fire was under investigation.
