Several remain hospitalized after violent northwest Miami-Dade church crash

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Surveillance video shows the moments two vehicles crashed and slammed into a northwest Miami-Dade County church.

It happened Thursday morning just before 1 a.m. at The New Solid Rock Baptist Church, located at 9026 NW 22nd Ave. in the county’s West Little River area.

Willie Norman’s stepdaughter remains hospitalized following the crash.

“She has a broken bone in her neck and spine,” he said.

Several people ran in to help the victims in the moments after the crash.

A man is able to pull a passenger from one of the vehicles who is writhing in pain.

The next video clip picks up ten minutes later, showing police and paramedics hard at work at the scene.

Four people were rushed to the hospital.

Among the victims was 21-year-old Ashanti Scott. She was seriously injured and underwent a successful emergency surgery.

Family members said 33-year-old Philip Hart was the driver and the only person inside the Kia that was involved in the crash.

The father of three is currently in intensive care.

“When I got here, they told me that he had a brain bleed he’s been in an accident,” said Jennifer McCain, Hart’s mother.
