1 dead after shooting in Pompano Beach

Hospital doctor pronounces shooting victim dead

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. — A person died after a shooting on Wednesday night in Pompano Beach.

The fatal shooting was at about 7:15 p.m., along Northwest Sixth Street, between Northwest 27 and 24 Avenues. Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies and Pompano Beach Fire Rescue personnel responded.

Fire rescue personnel found “a male individual” who had been shot and took him to “an area hospital” where a doctor pronounced him dead, according to Gerdy St. Louis, a spokeswoman for the Broward Sheriff’s Office.

Homicide detectives were investigating the murder. Detectives asked anyone with information about this or other cases to call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.
