Suspect caught on camera dousing vehicles in Lauderhill with gasoline, setting them on fire

LAUDERHILL, Fla. — Police are searching for an arsonist who targeted vehicles parked in Lauderhill.

It happened on Sunday at approximately 4 a.m. along the 900 block of Northwest 34th Terrace.

According to police, the arsonist poured gasoline onto two cars in the driveway of a home and then ignited the gas, causing a fire that fully engulfed both vehicles.

6 p.m. report:

The arsonist, who police said was wearing a light-colored hoodie and a backpack, fled the scene.

Fire crews quickly responded and extinguished the flames before the blaze reached the home, which was occupied by two adults.

No one was hurt.
