FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — A construction worker was hospitalized Tuesday after being shocked at a work site in Fort Lauderdale.
The incident was reported at 527 Orton Ave.
Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue officials released video that shows first responders bringing the victim down from the building in a basket.
According to FLFR, the worker struck a live wire with a piece of rebar and was nearly electrocuted. First responders said the victim suffered burns and other injuries.
He was taken as a trauma alert to Broward Health Medical Center.
The victim’s identity has not been released.
