MONROE COUNTY, Fla. — A Lower Keys fishing captain recently reeled in a 480-pound swordfish measuring 86 inches during a charter trip this week after a five-hour fight offshore.
Jose Rodriguez Jr. landed the massive catch in waters off the Lower Keys, marking one of the largest swordfish brought in locally in recent years.
The catch represents a significant milestone for the young Cudjoe Key captain and his family-run charter business, Above & Below Fishing Adventures.
