NORTH MIAMI BEACH, Fla. — Biscayne Boulevard was closed in both directions Saturday night between Northeast 163rd Street and Northeast 172nd Street after a five-vehicle crash, police said.

The North Miami Beach Police Department was at the scene as traffic was being diverted.

Six people were evaluated for injuries at the scene, with three requiring treatment at a nearby hospital, authorities said.

Police said one person died due to the crash.

Drivers were asked to avoid the area and take alternate routes while officers worked the scene.

No further details were immediately released.
