MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — Zoo Miami reopened Saturday, a day after deputies confirmed that a “swatting call” was made.
Zoo officials reported Friday on social media that an anonymous phone call was made, reporting a bomb threat.
According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, although the call appears to have been a hoax, deputies still swept the area out of an abundance of caution.
The zoo remained closed for the rest of Friday, but reopened Saturday for normal operations.
In an abundance of caution, Zoo Miami is currently closed to the public following an anonymous phone call reporting a bomb threat.
