Fleeing suspect injures Miami-Dade deputy in Goulds crash

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — First responders rushed to the scene of a crash injuring a Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputy on Thursday.

It happened around 3 p.m. in the area of Southwest 224th Street and 115th Avenue in Miami-Dade County’s Goulds neighborhood.

Investigation ongoing after deputy-involved crash in Miami-Dade

According to MDSO, deputies were attempting to stop a vehicle when the driver took off.

Deputies said after that suspect ran a stop sign, he struck a vehicle belonging to a Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office detective.

That deputy was injured and taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition.

Footage from Sky 10 shows a vehicle flipped on its roof, with debris scattered around the backyard of a home, where the car came to rest.

Authorities said the suspect was taken into custody, but did not provide any details on that person’s identity.
