SUNNY ISLES BEACH, Fla. — Police in Sunny Isles Beach used new technology to help bring two suspects into custody.
Sunny Isles Beach police launched their drone just before 3 p.m. Wednesday.
They were looking for a car that was wanted in connection with an attempted homicide out of Lauderhill.
Once the car was spotted, officers quickly responded.
With guns drawn, they ordered the occupants out of the car.
Police identified the driver as Zorrian Jenkins, 30, of Bradenton, and the passenger as Jamar Franklin, 32, of Miramar.
Police said they found a stolen gun underneath the driver seat.
They also said that Franklin refused to identify himself and that he was on probation out of Broward County.
As for the car itself, Lauderhill police said its owner was arrested in April, but the car was still in the system.
At last check, both James and Franklin were behind bars at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. James is being held on a $16,000 bond while Franklin was given a bond of $500.
