CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. — Medics rushed a woman to a local hospital after a man shot her multiple times in Coral Springs on Thursday afternoon, authorities said.
Police said the domestic-related shooting happened at around 3 p.m. at a strip mall in the 7600 block of West Sample Road.
Video from Sky 10 showed officers and crime scene tape behind the shopping center, surrounding a crashed work van and an SUV. Police said both the suspect, Abdul Baith Perez, and the victim were in the vehicles.
Sgt. James Kaban, a spokesperson for the Coral Springs Police Department, said the victim was taken to Broward Health North “with serious injuries” and a suspect was arrested.
Perez, 49, and the victim previously dated, authorities said.

Kaban said just before 4:30 p.m. that the victim’s “current condition remains unknown.”
Perez was arrested on multiple charges, including attempted premeditated murder, aggravated battery, possession of firearm or ammunition subject to injunction and tampering with evidence.
Kaban said there was no threat to the public and asked anyone with information to call CSPD at 954-344-1800.
