Woman accused of stabbing man in Pompano Beach

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. — A 28-year-old woman was arrested Thursday on accusations that she stabbed a man in the arm in Pompano Beach.

According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, the incident was reported shortly before 8 a.m. Thursday near the 200 block of Northwest Tenth Street.

Deputies said they arrived at the scene to find a man suffering from a stab wound to the arm.

Pompano Beach Fire Rescue transported him to a local hospital with injuries considered not life-threatening, authorities confirmed.

Deputies said the stabbing was a “domestic incident” and confirmed they arrested Marlonda Newman on an aggravated battery with a deadly weapon charge.

BSO Special Victims Unit detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the stabbing.

As of Friday morning, Newman was being held at the Broward County Main Jail without bond.
