Lazaro Miranda-Alonso was a store associate at the Walmart Supercenter at 8651 NW 13th Terrace, in Doral, according to the police officer’s report.

Miranda-Alonso, who was born in Cuba, abused his access to the store’s cash register with fraudulent returns, according to the police report.

“Surveillance footage captured the defendant conducting return transactions without a customer present and without receiving merchandise in return,” a police officer wrote, according to the report.

To steal $857.46, Miranda-Alonso was “using receipts belonging to other customers ... to load funds onto gift cards,” or to pocket cash, according to the report.

Police officers arrested Miranda-Alonso shortly after 7:30 p.m. on Monday at the Walmart Superstore in Doral, according to the arrest report.

Miami-Dade corrections booked Miranda-Alonso at 9:30 p.m. on Monday at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, according to inmate records.

Miranda-Alonso faced seven charges: Organized scheme to defraud, third-degree grand theft, and five counts of using a false or fraudulently obtained receipt in Florida to request a refund. His bond was $5,500.
